The Road Maintenance Fund Administration (RMFA) of Sierra Leone was established under the Road Maintenance Fund Administration Act of 2010 to address chronic underfunding of road maintenance activities. It serves as the central body for mobilizing and disbursing funds for road rehabilitation and upkeep. RMFA collects road user charges, including fuel levies and licenses, ensuring sustainable and autonomous financing for the road sector.

RMFA’s mission is to maintain and preserve the national road infrastructure by ensuring adequate, timely, and transparent funding. It supports road asset management, institutional development, and public-private partnerships to improve infrastructure quality and service delivery. RMFA plays a strategic role in reducing transportation costs and boosting economic development in Sierra Leone.
