The National Road Fund (NRF) of Liberia was established under the National Road Fund Act of 2016 to provide sustainable financing for the maintenance, rehabilitation, and construction of public roads across the country. Its creation followed decades of infrastructure underinvestment, aiming to secure road user revenues such as fuel levies and tolls to systematically improve Liberia’s road network.

NRF’s mission is to ensure the efficient, transparent, and accountable mobilization and disbursement of funds for road infrastructure development. By supporting long-term road maintenance strategies and promoting infrastructure investment, NRF plays a crucial role in improving connectivity, facilitating trade, and fostering national development. The fund works closely with government road agencies and development partners to optimize road service delivery.
