The Ministry of Transport, Communication Route and Opening Up (Ministère des Transports, Voies de Communication et Désenclavement) of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is the central government body responsible for managing and developing the country’s transport systems and road connectivity. It oversees the formulation and implementation of policies related to transportation infrastructure, including roads, railways, inland waterways, and aviation, while focusing on the critical goal of reducing regional isolation.

Its mission is to promote the opening up of remote areas, facilitate national and regional trade, and ensure safe, accessible, and efficient transport for all Congolese citizens. The Ministry also coordinates major infrastructure development projects and works closely with development partners and the private sector to rehabilitate and expand the DRC’s vast but underdeveloped transport network. Its objectives are crucial for the country’s peacebuilding, economic recovery, and long-term development.
