Networking & Knowledge Sharing: Fostering Collaboration in African Road Maintenance

Effective networking and knowledge sharing are fundamental to ARFMA-AFERA’s approach to improving road maintenance in Africa. We facilitate robust connections among our members and other key stakeholders, ensuring the continuous exchange of vital information and expertise. Our initiatives in this area include:

Establishing an efficient knowledge sharing network: This network is designed to disseminate core competencies and best practices in road maintenance across the continent, ensuring that all members benefit from collective experience.

Promoting effective committee and focal group meetings: These gatherings enhance collaboration and foster a unified approach to addressing challenges and opportunities in African road infrastructure development.

Increasing advocacy and awareness: We actively engage with member governments to highlight the critical importance of Road Maintenance Funds (RMFs) and Road User Charges (RUCs) development, advocating for policies that support sustainable road financing.

Improving knowledge dissemination: Through established networks, seminars, and events, we publish and share valuable knowledge, practices, and tools among members and RMFs. This includes encouraging the exchange of experiences in the financing and management of road maintenance and safety.

Enhancing ARMFA's image and brand: We strategically promote ARMFA as a leading opinion leader in the African road sector through public relations, marketing drives, seminars, and published reports, reinforcing our commitment to excellence and innovation.

These efforts collectively strengthen the capacity of our members and contribute to a more harmonized and effective approach to road asset management in Africa.
